Autistic Meltdown in the ER: I needed support

This week's video goes over my trip to the Emergency Room that ended in a meltdown. I woke up Thursday with a drooping eye and had been fighting extreme muscle fatigue for days, so at the behest of my GP, I made a trip to the ER for evaluation. I go over not only my visit and the reasons that brought me there, but how I struggled alone to convey what was happening and finally ended up in complete meltdown. I was unable to ask the right questions and advocate for myself. This is just one of many examples of how, as an Autistic adult, a dedicated support person would have helped me make better choices about my own healthcare.
