These seats are so dry, so we need to soften them twice so we don't damage them during this prep stage. The prep stage will require pressure to be placed on the leather to remove some of the damage and the colour, these seats are being changed in colour to maroon to match the original seats that are too badly damaged. Once all the prep stages are done we are then softening and then repairing all tears, holes, cracking, scratches and scuffs. Now all the prep stages have been carried out, we can get into the repair stages to fix, tears, scuff, cracks and fibres that are sticking up. This stage is where we are using the different types of fillers to fix all cracking heavy and light, as well as the areas where its worn this requires fibre binder being put onto the leather so it binds all the fibres back together again, once they are binded this can be sanded to give us stable base for colouring and provide strength to the leather. With this seat we are using a mixture of heavy filler and flexi filler, the area that are deeper we are applying heavy filler and finishing of with flexi filler, some areas just require flexi filler where the cracking is only very fine and not that deep.
