In our area wood cut split and delivered costs anywhere from $200-$275 a Court 4x4x8 Depending who you get it from and how well seasoned it is. If you cut your own wood it will be a lot cheaper. I purchased at $225 a Court plus A Pilling Fee of $90 to have it stacked. ordered 3 quarts at $225=$675 plus 90 =$765 We start lightly burning in September November on the colder nights to take the chill out of the air and moisture out of the house and burn until probably around the end of April or so with a average of 6 months. Average monthly wood heating cost for us is around 127.50. I find it Kind of expensive. Some peoples wood heating bills or power bills are a lot more and some a lot less. I want my over all bill to be a lower price :) Are heating & cooling runs around the same cost year round and prolly takes around 50-70$ a month to run. Overall Power lets say is $170 worse case scenario and wood costs 127.50 monthly Overall total $297.50 for power and heating costs. By next year i will be installing a second mini split for a primary heat source and putting my wood stove to a secondary heat source, Reason being is the cost of wood is more expensive and more work then running two mini splits or a heat pump. So if i was to put in another 18000 BTU Mini Split for around $2000 My power bill will go up around 50$ but we will say $70 worse case scenario. Second mini split Costs 70$ monthly to run verses $127.50 for wood heating + my labor to continuously attend to the process of the wood. So i will be saving 57.50 a month by switching over to a mini split With the 57.50 i will be saving each month I can reimburse myself the $2000 spent on the mini split. $2000 divided by 57.50 = 34.78 months and the unit is paid off. 34.78 divided by 12 months to give a year is 2.9 years to pay yourself back. Seems as Electric heating in my case for me will be more cheaper then heating with wood heat My First mini split was installed threw a company costing me more then it should of causing it to take 6.5 years to pay itself off at 57.50 The second mini split i will be installing it with a friend at a fraction of the price. The second mini split will not have the same kind of 10 year warranty like I have on my LG but i am assuming the money i will save on purchasing a cheaper name brand I will be still saving if something was to let go. Thanks for watching and reading the Description. Hope this helps you make your decision on your heating solutions.
