I have a 486 ISA SBC in another case where everything is mostly re-capped except for the power supply, and oh boy does it ever create a whine depending on what capture device I'm using. If you have this card, I heavily suggest you only ever use the line output. This will get you the cleanest audio you can muster from one of these. Also, play with the DOS mixer utility. the defaults are NOT ideal and you will get a LOT of hiss if you don't turn some of the settings down halfway.
