Olav Mella | International ME/CFS Conference 2025: Drug treatment - What have we learned since 2007?

Prof Olav Mella gave an overview of the last 10 years of research into autoantibody reduction as a treatment for ME/CFS. He presented the research conducted by his team on rituximab and cyclophosphamide. Rituximab binds to the CD20 antigen on B cells and destroys them. Cyclophosphamide acts against plasmablasts that are refractory to rituximab. The team is continuing their research to develop therapeutic approaches targeting autoimmunity.
