SEND ME A TIP! -- https://ko-fi.com/triplebmusic or BUY ME A COFFEE! -- https://www.buymeacoffee.com/triplebm... Originally composed by: Yoko Shimomura Arranged by: Triple B Music Lead Guitars/Rhythm Guitars/Bass Performed by: Triple B Music ------------------- Back with another Mario cover! This was one I did for the most recent Dwelling of Duels (just like my previous cover from the month before), where the theme this time was Spinoff Games. I thought Mario RPG would be a perfect game to choose a tune from since it's one of my favourite games from my childhood, and this piece in particular I always thought was really cool sounding, and made me think that it has so much potential for an arrangement. I also haven't done any music from this game since I did the Barrel Volcano one over two years ago -- hopefully I can do more! There are just so many games I want to cover music from though lol I ended up yet again, turning a pretty short (in this case, 35-ish seconds) song into a relatively long musical journey. I made sure to have the ostinato going in some form throughout the entire length of it, and it has a bit of a hypnotic kind of repetition to it. I of course added a long, slowly developing solo section, and I really channeled my inner Alex Lifeson/John Petrucci for the volume swells. I'm really proud of the bass/drum groove during the solo section in particular. It just has this really spicy syncopated, but tasteful kind of feel, which is something I always appreciate about bass/drum parts in music I listen to, so I'm happy I was able to channel that into this arrangement. I also knew I wanted to have part of the song utilize my new 8-string guitar for some really low, heavy sections. All in all, I'm very pleased with how this one turned out, especially considering I had to rush the DoD version a bit to meet the deadline. I did end up re-recording a couple lead guitar lines for this release since they weren't quite as perfect as I wanted them to be, and I updated the mix a bit based on feedback I got. ------------------- Please check out my other web spaces here: https://linktr.ee/triple_b_music ------------------- Find my music in other places!
