In this teaching, we look at the topic of fasting, a topic that seems to be poorly understood in the Western believing body. What does scripture actually say about the topic? Why would someone fast in the first place? Is there protocol to fasting? What should one's motive be for fasting in the first place? What makes a fast acceptable to Elohim, and what would invalidate one in His eyes? We also look at a passage of scripture which speaks about some of the traditional Jewish fasts that Torah does not command, a passage most are unaware of. What is Elohim's opinion to these non-commanded, traditional Jewish fasts? We also answer the question, is Yom Kippur a day where one should fast, and what did the early assemblies of the first century do on this day? In the second half of this teaching, we give practical advice on all aspects of undergoing a fast. Because believers are poorly educated and ill-equipped for fasting, this results in a fast being more difficult than necessary, and makes one far more prone to failure when fasting. How does one prepare for a long-term fast, and how is one to break it wisely? We look at what one will undergo physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually when undergoing a long-term fast, Michael giving personal experiential advice from a recent 40 day, total fast from food he recently underwent. We hope this part of the teaching will help inform and equip believers, and give them all they need to know about long-term fasts in one, easily accessible place. We hope this teaching is a blessing to you. Donations: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr... Facebook: / theolivebranchfs Website: http://www.theolivebranchfellowship.com/
