Bald Eagles build large nests high in trees. Male and female eagles bring in sticks to create a framework and soft material to fill the nest and cradle their eggs and young. How does this behavior help their offspring survive? What would happen if they didn't do this? Can you think of other animals that might have similar parenting behaviors? Bald Eagles build the largest nests of any North American bird. While eagles nesting in the northern part of the United States generally do most of their building between October and March, we've seen them bring materials to the nest in every month of the year. Sometimes nest work is cooperative...and sometimes it is not!
