"Do You Know Where Your Woman Is Tonight?" was released in the late-winter of 1978 on REO Speedwagon's seventh studio album, You Can Tuna Piano, But You Can't Tuna Fish. REO's double live album, Live: You Get What You Play For was a huge favorite for some of my friends and I and we had been playing it constantly the previous summer. I had become a huge fan of this band and was happy to see those first full page notices announcing the new record appear in Circus, Cream, and Rolling Stone....couldn't wait to hear some more of their unique, good time, piano AND guitar driven rock n roll! You Can Tune A Piano But You Can't Tuna Fish didn't let me down and I remember it being one of a group of records (also including Blondie's Parallel Lines, David Gilmour's debut, Elvis Costello's This Year's Model, Genesis's ...And Then There Were Three, Jethro Tull's Heavy Horses, Joe Walsh's But Seriously Folks, Peter Tosh's Bush Doctor, Bruce Springsteen's Darkness on the Edge of Town, Warren Zevon's Excitable Boy, The Moody Blues' Octave, Yes's Tormato, The Cars' debut, Steve Forbert's Alive On Arrival, Talking Heads More Songs About Buildings and Food, Southside Johnny's Hearts Of Stone, Dire Straits' debut album, Wishbone Ash's No Smoke Without Fire & Jefferson Starship's Earth...plus many others of course that I loved, but thinking back these were the ones that spent the most time in heavy rotation!) that, one of which was very likely guaranteed to be on my turntable for the better part of the year....wow, looking back over the records released that year is such a revelation.....so many amazing great and beautiful records! This is my 3rd video for an REO Speedwagon tune (the other two being "Blazin' Your Own Trail Again" and "Sing To Me") coincidentally (not really! LOL!) it's also the 3rd song from the You Can Tune A Piano But You Can't Tuna Fish album....yeah, I LOVE this record! REO Speedwagon remains one of my go to bands for plain old classic, feel-good, too-tapping rock n roll...music that makes you wanna get up and move! Now that I've mined my fav tracks from You Can Tune Piano....hopefully, next time I tackle a REO tune it's be something from Live:You Get What You Play For or Nine Lives, my other fav albums by the band. The video is basically exactly how the song always played in my head since I first heard it 35 years ago....just a girl partying, dancing to this rollicking tune, showing here trusting boyfriend to learn "now I know how a blind man sees"! (God, that is a classic line, isn't it?! LOL!) Anyway, it's a great, great tune, one that always seems to end way too soon and, until next time.....I hope you enjoy the effort! [Lyrics] Do you know where your woman is tonight? Do you know if she's sleepin' alone tonight? Well, you might be right and you might be wrong when you say you trust her alone. But this rock 'n roll road has led you far into the night. Do you know where your woman is tonight? So you think you know where your woman spends her time And you think you know her every rhythm and rhyme Well, I thought so too, baby, long a ago But now I know how a blind man sees. 'Cause this rock 'n roll road has led you far into the night. Do you know where your woman is tonight?
