Sooner or later you will find a way To feel like sunshine even on a cloudy day To feel like morning in the dead of night Sooner or later it's gonna be all right. Now don't go thinking your life's a mess Rather start thinkin' in terms of happiness And it's gonna happen Just decide were you're goin' Get out in the open And start blazin' your own trail again It takes time sometimes to figure out That there's nothing to worry about And that there's plenty to be thankful for It takes time sometimes to know the score See everybody's got a smile inside So put it upon your face and wear it with pride And it's gonna happen Just decide were you're goin' Get out in the open And start blazin' your own trail again "Blazin' Your Own Trail Again" was released in 1978 on REO Speedwagon's seventh album, You Can Tune A Piano, But You Can't Tuna Fish. This was REO's first album to make the to #40, where it peaked at #29. This album is tied with "Live: You Get What You Play For" as my very favorite by this fantastic band and the record is one of the greats that define my Junior year in high school....one of those that was always either spinning on my turntable or playing on the 8-track in my car. There are few bands that can compete with REO Speedwagon for straight out good time rock and roll. Put on REO and you have an instant party, no matter where you are! Their music is defined by incredible musicianship....Gary Richrath's excellent guitar and the fantastic keyboards/piano of not one but two masters; Neal Doughty and Kevin Cronin. I saw this band live at the time of this record and they were truly one of the greatest bands I ever saw perform live. (That one of my favorite albums by the band is the live double record is very unusual since I'm not usually a huge fan of live records, but that record captured them perfectly and is easily my favorite live album of all-time). "Blazin' Your Own Trail" is one of my favorite songs by the band and I always thought it should have been a hit for them. I wanted to try and put a nice video around it since i think it's such an incredible tune. The lyrics offer such simple beauty and truth and are sure to put a little light into the darkness when you need it. With footage from BBC Planet Earth and Into The West (2005)...special thanks to Harles99 ( / harles99 ) for the bit o' Milky Way over the wagons! Check out his channel for some of the most amazing videos you'll ever see! Hope you enjoy it!
