"Three Passions for our Tortured Planet is a solo piano work confronting the urgent realities of climate change. Each of its three movements reflects a specific element in our environmental crisis: “...fire...” evokes the devastating wildfires of the American West, beginning with a flicker that escalates into a raging blaze before finally burning out. “...glaciers...” portrays the majestic stillness of polar ice, interrupted by thunderous collapses as rising temperatures accelerate their disintegration. “...winds...” captures the intensifying fury of global storms—growing from restless gusts into destructive hurricanes before fading into calm. This piece seeks to raise awareness of our climate emergency and inspire action.
