Anyone who studies jujutsu needs to know how to do a kimura lock in a fight. . One of the most useful locks in jujutsu (a.k.a jujitsu/jiu jitsu) is called Gyaku Ude Garami, also called the Kimura Lock. It is one of the most used joint locks in jujutsu self defense training as well as MMA Fighting. . This technique is called many different names, depending on what martial art you are training in. If you are studying traditional Jujutsu and Judo, then they use the term Gyaku Ude Garami. If you are studying MMA Jujitsu or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, then they use the term Kimura. Other arts such as Taijutsu, Karate, Kenpo and Kempo also use this technique from a standing position to control or subdue their opponent. . The application (bunkai) is similar to the Ude Garami, except that it is reversed, hence the term Gyaku Ude Garami. To do the Kimura Lock, the opponents arm has to be put behind them, by grabbing the attacker's wrist and forming a figure-four. By controlling the opponent's body and cranking the arm away from the opponent, putting pressure on the shoulder joint resulting in tearing or breaking the opponents arm. In MMA Competition, the opponent would “tap out” as this submission/joint lock is applied. . This lesson is directly for those training in the traditional Japanese martial arts and self-defense techniques of the ninja and samurai, such as ninjutsu (ninpo) and bujutsu (budo). . #Jujutsu #MartialArts #SelfDefense - Checkout Our Merch Here: https://teespring.com/stores/budo-ryu...
