The Christian worship service of the United Church of Colchester, at 900 Main Street in Colchester, Vermont for Sunday, January 11, 2026. We had a wonderful gathering of members, friends and visitors for prayer, worship and fellowship. Following the service we continued our ministry to each other in our Parish Hall, while enjoying a cup of coffee and a snack. Our morning's sermon for Baptism Of The Lord Sunday, entitled "Washing Over Us" was delivered by our Pastor, Rev. Russell Willis. It was based in part on Isaiah 42: 1-9 and Matthew 3: 13-17. From the founding of the original church on this location in 1804, we remain committed to following in the way of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and bearing witness to the coming Kingdom of God through our life together. A Christ centered family oriented community church, we are affiliated with the American Baptist Churches of Vermont and New Hampshire. We strive to be a church family, caring for each other, our community, and through our supported missions and ministries, the world beyond. We are happy that you found us, and invite you to come back and worship with us often, either in person, or online at this YouTube channel. Our Pastor's poem used as a benediction was as follows: WITH WHOM I AM WELL PLEASED Water cleans and purifies best when not still Waves onto a shore Currents within a stream Falling from a canyon wall or a bowl or a hand Washes over and brings benefit God is not still ... Washing over us Calling to us as God's beloved Those blessed by the one "with whom I am well pleased"
