Location: Kettering Polen Farm System: Kettering Test time: 1st Monday of the month at noon Enthusiasts present: Tommy (@buckeyenotifications) For the first Monday this month, we decided to try the 3-phase RM again since Kettering cancelled when we went here in March. We were originally gonna meet with Dominic and Andrew at a different RM in town, but they ended up changing plans, so we decided to come here instead. Kettering was a bit late with testing today, but after calling dispatch, the sirens fired up without any trouble. For some reason, the alert seemed to be cut short, but the attack lasted for the full 3 minutes. This is probably the loudest single-tone Penetrator I've heard to date, and that includes the P-127 in Englewood we recorded in December 2020. I'd even say this had close to the same level of bite as the dual-tone P-15s I've heard, and I definitely felt this one rumbling the ground and my chest a lot more. My meter got up to 115.9 dBA, and Tommy got a whopping 124.2 dBC on his! Needless to say, this thing definitely did not disappoint! Before this siren fires up, you can hear the 2001s from Washington Township in the distance. You might notice the lower-pitched 2001 that seems to drop in pitch a bit. We believe that is the 130 at Driscoll Elementary, not faring too well. Anyways, the main siren starts at 4:28. Enjoy! Tight shot: Canon PowerShot SX60 HS Wide shot: Sony HDR-PJ710 Audio: Zoom H1n
