In a world where social media has turned everyone into a potential “news source” and where artificial intelligence can generate articles, images, or testimonies in seconds, one key question arises: What does it mean to inform today? Who holds the legitimacy to say what is “true”? And what does it mean to be a journalist—or a critical reader—in an age overwhelmed by information, deepfakes, and algorithm-driven content? This Campus invites educators to revisit the fundamentals of journalism and information, explore the shifting boundaries between freedom of the press and freedom of expression, and reflect on the role of education in building critical, responsible, and media-literate citizens in the digital and AI era. Part 1 – What Is Information? Between Facts, Narratives and Truths - with With Divina Frau-Meigs, Professor, Media Sociologist and UNESCO Chair Savoir Devenir. Part 2 – Journalist, Influencer, Informer: Who Informs Us Today? With Juliette Freysson Dugo, Consultant of the Media and Information Literacy and Digital Competencies Unit, at UNESCO Part 3 – Informing and Educating for Information Literacy in the Age of AI With Letiția Pârcălăbescu, PhD and AI Researcher.
