From loaders pulling her along the spur line to the turntable rotation and the powerful tow truck pulling her onto the cradle, this was a move of epic proportions. Built in 1996, the Pacific Alliance is a 41-meter fishing vessel with an 11-meter beam and a gross tonnage of 837 tons, putting Point Hope’s cradle near its maximum capacity. Please note, there is no float off in this video as it happened in the middle of the night at 2am. Filmed entirely handheld, this video captures the teamwork, expertise, and calm confidence of the Point Hope crew as they tackled this record-breaking move.
