2022 Ford Expedition & F150 – Replace Air Filter 7/28/2025 This video is about the replacement of the engine air filter on my 2022 Expedition 3.5L V6 and 2019 F150 5.0L V8. Both trucks have about 25,000 miles. It’s not difficult to replace the filter, but if you’re relatively new to this, it can be a little tricky. I bought the Fram filter from Walmart for $11, but the price just went up! Generally, the filters for the F150 F-150 Expedition and Navigator are very inexpensive because there are so many of these trucks out there. You should be safe using “OEM” brands such as Motorcraft, especially if the price is reasonable. I also go with recognized name brands such as Fram. Almost worse than politics, is picking a filter brand... So, I won’t discuss why I will absolutely NOT buy K&N air filters. The Fram filter is thicker (taller) and has more pleats (folds); effectively, it could have twice the filter surface area. But, the paper is so tightly packed, I have my doubts that overall efficiency of the Fram is better than the OEM (Motorcraft) filter. I can only hope that Fram has done their homework. If you prefer to search the OEM part number, it’s 7C3Z9601A 7C3Z-9601-A It appears that these filters fit a broad range of 2007-2024 F150, Navigator, and Expedition, as well as all engines.
