The following is old footage from a cancelled mod i was making for half-life 2. it was to make fort zombie into hl2. i never got far into development of this mod as real life got in the way....mostly my demons in my head. so i lost all of the files and forgotten this project existed for almost 14 years. after remembering i made this i found the archive on moddb.com it was called fort half-life. this is all that's left. i wanted to share this with you as I'm going back and realizing just how much more ambitious i once was. so many mods and games I've made or tried to since highschool 2008-2013 to only can most of them....anyways enjoy. by the way i also made another half-life 2 mod that was cancelled called radiational wasteland. plus my most popular map for garry's mod, operation quarantine. so check those out on my channel as well. you can play operation quarantine via steam workshop at the least. It was released on October 30, 2009. The game takes place on a version of Earth that is being invaded by an evil force which warps reality and creates zombies. Players control Ben Riley, a young man who has survived through the destruction and is setting up a haven in the fictional town of Piety, Indiana]. Each version of Piety in any play-through is procedurally generated, with different houses, items and enemies placed each time the player enters the town. Players must choose a location to fortify, build defenses and find supplies and survivors in thirteen in-game days before a zombie horde pours out of Indianapolis and overwhelms the survivors. The game began as a test for technology to be used in the upcoming game Northstar and uses a similar engine. Half-Life 2 is a 2004 first-person shooter game developed and published by Valve Corporation. It was published for Windows on Valve's digital distribution service, Steam. Like the original Half-Life (1998), Half-Life 2 is played from a first-person perspective, combining combat, puzzles, and storytelling. It adds features such as vehicles and physics-based gameplay. The player controls Gordon Freeman, who joins a resistance effort to liberate Earth from the alien Combine empire. Half-Life 2 was created using Valve's Source game engine, which was developed simultaneously. Development lasted five years and cost US $40 million. Valve's president, Gabe Newell, set his team the goal of redefining the FPS genre. They integrated the Havok physics engine, which simulates real-world physics, to reinforce the sense of presence and create new gameplay. They also developed the characterization, with more detailed character models and animations. Valve announced Half-Life 2 at E3 2003 with a release date of September of that year. They failed to meet the release date, leading to fan backlash. In October, the unfinished source code was published online, leading to more backlash and damage to the team's morale. Half-Life 2 was released on Steam on November 16, 2004. It won 39 Game of the Year awards and, like its predecessor, has been cited as one of the most influential FPS games and among the greatest games ever made. It was ported to the Xbox, the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3, macOS, and Linux. By 2011, it had sold 12 million copies. Half-Life 2 was followed by the free extra level Lost Coast (2005) and the episodic sequels Episode One (2006) and Episode Two (2007). In 2020, after canceling Episode Three and several further Half-Life projects, Valve released a prequel, Half-Life: Alyx.
