0#selfharmawareness #ririitrivedi #behavior #partone Have you noticed unexplained marks on your child's body? Are you afraid your child might be thinking about suicide? Very often, when you see your child self-harming, you might see it as a suicide attempt. It's important to understand the difference between suicide and self-harm. Suicide involves intentionally ending one's life, while self-harm is a way to cope with emotional pain. Self-harm can take many forms, such as cutting🔪, burning, or engaging in risky behaviours like unprotected sex or substance abuse🍺. Research shows that self-harm is a risk factor for suicide, and individuals who engage in self-harm may be at a higher risk of attempting suicide. Young individuals have a higher tendency to engage in self-harming behaviour due to various factors such as a lack of knowledge in managing emotions, childhood experiences of abuse, seeking attention from parents, peer pressure, and mental health issues. This behaviour can become an addiction and a habit and often make the child emotionally numb 🙂 and have low emotional resilience. Warning signs of self-harm 🛑If you find any unexplained cuts or bruises on the child’s body 🛑If the child is suddenly covering up their arms and legs. 🛑If the child is suddenly being emotionally withdrawn 🛑If the child is going through severe depression or feelings of worthlessness 00:00 - Introduction 0:36 - 01:03 Difference between self harming behaviour and suicide 01:04 - 01:30 Self harming and suicide are interlinked 01:32 - 02:51 - What is self harming behaviour 02:52 - 03:35 - Why people self harm (group 1) 03:35 - 03:59 - Why people self harm (group 2) 04:00 - 04:25 - Why people self harm (group 3) 04:25 - 04:45 - Self harm and peer pressure (group 4) 04:45 - 05:18 - Self harm and anger 05:18 - 05:35 - Using self harm as emotional blackmail 05:35 - 05:53 - Self harming can become addiction 05:53 - 06:07 - Check for self harm marks 06:07 - 06:41 - Self harm due to mental health challenges 06:41 - 07:22 - Self harm as a learned behaviour 07:23 - 0758 - Self harm and emotional regulation 07:38 - 09:43 - Watch out signs for parents Subscribe to our channel for more content on #parenting #indianparenting #indianparents #mentalhealthawareness #psychologyfacts #psychology #research #therapy --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LIKE || SHARE || COMMENT || SUBSCRIBE ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow us on Facebook : / riri.trivedi Instagram : / ririitrivedi [ Students, Parents, Relationship issues, anxiety, depression, self harm prevention, parenting, young child, exam stress, relationship stress ] #part1 #selfcare #selfharm #riritrivedi #wellnessspace #research #suicide #selfharmvideo #selfimprovement #suicidepreventionmonth #anxiety #traumatherapy #mentalhealth #trauma #physiotherapy #psychology #psychologyfacts #indianparenting #indiasgottalent #trending #youtube #ytshorts #suicideawarness #selfharmprevention #motivation #psychictarot #english #depression #ptsd #samayraina #help #care #SelfHarmRecovery #PsychologyMatters #BreakTheSilence #HealingJourney #EmotionalWellbeing #TalkAboutIt #SelfCareTips #YouAreNotAlone #rajshamani #tedtalk #tedxtalk #tedxtalks #tedtalks
