At Grab Taxi, real-time analytics is mission-critical for optimizing marketplace operations, improving driver-partner efficiency, and enhancing the passenger experience. To achieve this, we built MarketWatch, a real-time observability platform powered by Apache Pinot. Our architecture leverages Apache Flink and Apache Kafka to process and stream high-velocity event data, which Pinot ingests to deliver ultra-fast, low-latency analytics. This enables teams across Grab to track marketplace health, detect anomalies, and respond to operational changes in real-time. By adopting StarTree's tiered storage and real-time indexing, we have significantly improved our operational posture, ensuring high availability, scalability, and cost efficiency while serving real-time insights.
