This is the new Charlton & Jenrick Bakechef Which is a wood burning cooking stove with integrated cooking top / lid and lower oven. The internal firebox has integrated rails to accept internal grills for cooking inside directly over or on the fire. The stove shown in this video is the prototype model currently on live display at the Charlton and Jenrick factory. I had the privilege of seeing this in live action today at the factory for the first time. We have THIRTEEN of these due to arrive with us here at Natural Heating in Norfolk this coming September and one will be “mine” and go on live display. Two are already pre-sold before they arrive. David Brewer from Charlton and Jenrick is a good friend and an absolute star. I have to say, C&J are THE most fabulous company and the support and back up is unsurpassable and it’s always a pleasure to work with them Unfortunately, I just can’t have one in my kitchen at home as there are steel beams right through the middle of the wall where the flue would need to exit… so I’ll just need to seriously pursue the idea of moving house as I really want one !
