Australia's newest freight service into the Outback began testing in late September, with empty containers moved to a new terminal at Pimba, 500 kilometres north of Adelaide. The new logistics solution includes road and rail links, connecting three mines to Port Adelaide's Berth 29, with inbound and outbound freight moving via the train to/from Pimba and trucks to/from the mines. The new terminal is under construction in stages, with a temporary dirt hardstand in place so the service can begin. The train begins taking loads of Copper south in October, with six weekly services in and out of Pimba scheduled to operate per the ARTC MTP. The terminal will be fully completed around the end of 2026. The train will take loaded cement containers with empty copper containers stacked on top, north to Pimba and return south with loaded copper containers and empty cement containers stacked on top, adding vital capacity to the train. #timestamp 00:00 - Introduction 00:15 - Test Train at Winninowie 01:30 - New Train Explained 02:00 - Approaches Tent Hill 03:15 - Arrives at Wirrappa 04:10 - Further details and train flyover at Wirrappa 05:15 - At the famous Wirrappa S Curve 07:40 - Backing into the new Pimba Terminal 09:40 - Flyover of new Pimba Terminal (In construction phase) Our Channel: / @ms_trains © M&S Trains 2025 - All Rights Reserved
