Wash n dry season 3 episode 16 Hello everyone, we are back with some really cool and rare vintage machines today! Also my personal favourites of all time. I re turned to this laundromat with the mechanical ipso washers and this rare primus F10. I had filmed this exact same machine here 2 years ago if some of you remember it, but since that video is now outdated and these mechanical timer primus washers are getting really rare I re filmed it! (Link to the old video at the end of this description) The only bad thing is that this place is in much worse condition now but we'll talk about that in a bit.. We drove 1 hour each way to film this amazing primus F10, but it was well worth it! Load: darks/synthetics Programme 3, synthetics 45C° & 45C° pre & main wash High & long 1000 RPM final spin Using dash liquid detergent & lenor fabric softener Drying in a vintage 1970s' very powerful primus "dry star" single gas heated dryer (with the gas flame visible on the video!) on max. temp. for 19 minutes, these dryers also do not cool down so the clothes come out extremely hot Slow spin speed on the primus F10 is 500RPM, high speed 1000 RPM. It was very fun using a vintage mechanical timer primus soft-mount machine, even though this place is now unfortunately very poorly maintained... Half the washers and dryers are out of order, including the old primus FS16 16KG washer next to the one im using here which is the only 16KG machine in this laundrette. Everything is quite dirty, out of 4 dryers only 2 are working. 3 of the small 7KG machines (mechanical timer ipso HF65's) are out of order, one of them has water left inside the drum who knows for how long and the other one has it's timer stuck on main wash cycle, however that one with the broken timer isn't marked as out of order which is weird... When I was here in february 2024, everything was properly maintained and the only machine out of order was one ipso HF65. Regardless all that, the primus F10 is still working very well with no issues. Just probably needs new shock absorbers as it sometimes fails to spin. I hope they do start taking good care of this place because you do not see these oldschool machines often, especially with such a nice variety like here at this laundromat. Anyways, enjoy!! Parts of cycles: 0:00 Starting (10KG = 8€) 1:34 Pre-wash 4:49 Intermediate spin 6:10 Main wash 11:43 SpinDrain (no inter. spin) 12:11 First rinse 16:16 Intermediate spin (failed because of un-balance) 18:13 Second rinse 22:48 Intermediate spin 24:17 Third final rinse (fabric softener) 28:59 Final spin (skip to 32:09 if you don't wanna see the failed attempts) 39:26 Slowing down & spin brake 39:58 Anti-crease (weird sounding motor?) 40:27 Door unlocked, machine in operation 40:56 Cycle fully done 41:24 Drying (gas flame visible at 42:42) 45:46 End of drying & photos from the laundrette Thanks for watching!
