The door knob close is a technique that has been used by salespeople for a long time. Salespeople use this closing technique as a last ditch effort. The way this technique is used it to pack up and get ready to leave the appointment. Once all of the literature and sales items are packed the salesperson goes to the door and pauses. At the pause at the door the salesperson can ask about what is stopping the sale, go for negotiations, or even heavily discount the job. Using some of these old school sales tactics can lead to sales sabotage. Some rejection and objections come from the sales process used by salespeople.
