Daily Shake Up 1,150 - What Reality Do You Want to Create?

What reality do you want to create for your life, your business and your relationships over the next ____ years? Daily Shake Up No. 1,150 shares a recent (this past week) clarifying moment that I had while meeting with my mastermind group. Someone else was talking about what they wanted their business to be over the next 10 years, and it struck me that 10 years was not my number. I truly love the work that I do in my business and in my non-profit work, and I don’t envision anything like a traditional retirement. There’s still too much music inside me. However, when I heard this reference to 10 years I knew that wasn’t my number. I went to the whiteboard and wrote down this question: What reality do I want to create in my life and business over the next 5 years? The feeling I had when writing and re-reading this clarifying question was palpable and filled me with excitement. And I realized that I want to focus on building and growing my business with a 5 year timeline in mind, after which I will have the freedom to live, work and play on my own schedule. This exercise also allowed me to get clear on what’s important in the way the business exists and operates, and even more importantly the role of passion, purpose and mission in my work and life in the future. Most critically, I want to assure that I spend as much time as possible “in my jam” – doing the things that matter in the world, that leverage my zone of genius and magic, that fill me up, and that allow me to have fun living a life of mission. Perhaps, this is all a tall order, but with a 2026 word of ABLAZE it all seems to fit and the universe is already giving me more clarity than ever about what I want to create in the world in the coming years.
