This is an interview with Peggy Ann Jones discussing her time as a member of The D'Oyly Carte Opera Company. Between 1958 and 1973, Peggy Ann was a member of the chorus but was quickly promoted to the role of principal mezzo-soprano. I was so fortunate to meet with Peggy Ann just five days before she sadly passed away. This interview is posted as a tribute to one of the great 20th century Savoyards. This is part of a series of interviews and talks with former members of The D'Oyly Carte Opera Company giving their memories of being of tour for 48 weeks a year. The purpose of this “not for profit” project is to ensure that personal memories of the D’Oyly Carte Opera Company are not forgotten or lost. A number of wonderful photographs have been used to illustrate the points being discussed. I give a massive thank you to all the photographers, both known and unknown.
