Another trip to the North East. Second time round to Spennymoor due to a postponement 2 weeks earlier. I mean, I’m sure this game will pass off without incident 👀 Anyway once again, The Grand Electric Hall was the place to meet it seemed. Lots of Scunthorpe fans about, even Frank from Pelican Waters 🇦🇺 A little bit tired from his long flight. Pleasure to meet you briefly, definitely will get you on the vlog 👏🏼👏🏼 The game was marred by two mistakes in all fairness. One where the Spenny keeper knocked the ball into his own net, with no pressure from anyone. Step forward Mr Taylor, who apparently is a referee. Though watching his display last night, looked like he’d won a competition to be out in the middle. As you may tell, I’m still not over his ineptness 🤦🏻 Anyway he disallowed the goal, yes your guess is as good as mine 🤷🏻♂️ Then up the other end, Fitzsimons who seems pretty comfortable with the ball at his feet. Made a mistake, with the ball at his feet. Which let Spenny in and they finished from a tight angle to make it 1-0. However much Scunthorpe tried, they couldn’t get back into the game. Though Fitzsimons kept Scunthorpe in the game too, with two very good saves. Yes, we can blame the referee for the defeat. End of the day though, we didn’t put our chances away when they came, Spennymoor did and that was the difference. The ref was also rubbish for them at times too. Not getting fouls they should have had. We go again Friday and have to pick ourselves up for the visit of Kings Lynn. A team that have picked up 3 points already from us. Anyway 4 games in the North East and only 1 point picked up - thats also not good enough. Good luck to Spennymoor Town, 7 wins in a row as rhey look to get a playoff spot.
