When I give a keynote speech or webinar on burnout, people are often surprised I mention proper nutrition as an important step to help us overcome symptoms of burnout in our jobs. In my job as a physician, where physician burnout is becoming increasingly common, many of us skip lunch or cram down unhealthy foods while staring at a computer, answering emails, responding to patient questions, and doing our charts before the afternoon clinic begins. In this video, I offer some simple suggestions for eating better and healthier foods. I don’t suggest a specific diet per se, as I don’t know that there is one best diet for everyone. But there are some simple changes to the food and drink choices you make that can go a long way to overcoming burnout. Hire Dr. Geier to speak to your organization. Dr. David Geier is a popular leadership and burnout keynote speaker for corporate and medical audiences. Click below to learn more about how he can educate and inspire your audience. Please note: I don't respond to questions and requests for specific medical advice left in the comments to my videos. I receive too many to keep up (several hundred per week), and legally I can't offer specific medical advice to people who aren't my patients (see below). If you want to ask a question about a specific injury you have, leave it in the comments below, and I might answer it in an upcoming Ask Dr. Geier video.
