Welcome to my Dungeon Siege - Kingdom of Ehb speedrun where I show how to beat the current world record by about an hour. Just like with all of my speedruns I used segments in order to get the best result, so once again this is not a valid record but just for fun :-) The main idea was pretty much the same as in my Legends of Aranna run: recruit a combat mage to skip leveling at the beginning, use items to get him to level 14 and cast Haste for the rest of the run. All being done with the 1.2 speed multiplier for a faster real time. However, despite the surprising similarities, there are still a few clear differences! The exp/damage ratios of the later monsters/enemies are getting so high that I decided to spend a few seconds each chapter leveling up in order to get access to better spells and to increase my damage output in the boss fights. I set myself the following levels during the run: 14 at Jeriah, for Haste 17 at Goblin robot, for Zorkons Bonecrusher 23 at Gresh, for Detonating Glyph and Zorkons Bonecrusher (clone) 26 at Castle Ehb, for Fire Ring 46 at Gom, for Detonating Glyph (max level) One advantage with the higher levels is the spell Group Haste which allowed me to recruit knights without them falling behind my hasty mages. With them, I had tanks to soak up damage during the run and to deal some extra damage in the final battle. Originally, I also planned getting Sikra, reuniting her with her cousin Boryev and then battering Gom with 3 knights, 3 combat mages and 3 of their clones, but unfortunately, the detour to free her was longer than it saves time in the final fight, so I had to leave her behind :-( A big issue was collecting enough gold to buy all the items and spells needed, aswell for paying my planned companions since only Lord Bolingar was free. The 4k for Lorun were a lot at the early stage and the 400k each for the following three were a lot for the late stage! This made it necessary to get the absolute highest valuable loot from the few bosses/mini bosses/chests that were on my way. Sometimes, it took hundreds of tries but in the end I managed to get everything I wanted! Besides those major changes, there were only a few minor improvements: I skipped killing a skeleton at the beginning and used luck instead to get a good weapon. I managed to lure away all spiders in front of the boss room in Wesrin Cross like I did with the Lost Queen in LoA and even avoided sacrificing someone I waited in the right spots in the Glitterdelve mines to change the timing of the lift pairs I used invisibility for the goblin cave to survive the otherwise impossible to pass passages I used two tiny shortcuts in the Cliffs of Fire and in Castle Ehb In addition to that, I used my glitchy potion canceling throughout the run and I killed my clone once to double my gold before Boryev. In front of the Chamber of Stars, I immediately drank a potion after casting Fire Ring for a faster than normal second cast and on the lift in the Cliffs of Fire, I somehow even cast a spell twice, I dont know how I did that, though... And thats it. I am very happy that I managed to get this run done in just under one hour!
