Here are 4 EASY ways to prep and cook TOFU! Three of these are my fav go-to recipes, while 1 is a newbie that is going to be added to my top fav ways to make tofu! 3/4 of these recipes are by @ItdoesnttastelikechickenAbsolutely LOVE her and her recipes!! Definitely check her out! Rice Noodle Bowl Marinade: 3 tbsp gluten free Soy Sauce 2 tbsp Water 1 tbsp Rice Vinegar 1/2 tbsp Olive Oil 1 tbsp Maple Syrup A Few Shakes Red Pepper Chili Flakes 1 tbsp Onion Powder 1 tbsp Garlic Powder A few shakes Black Pepper 1 Block Extra Firm/ Firm Tofu Mix everything together and set aside. I find this recipe works BEST when added AFTER everything else is cooked,(veggies are sauteed and tofu is fried, then added back into a pan), pouring it overtop the veggies and tofu, allowing it to simmer and absorb all the sauce flavours! Coconut Curry Tofu Recipe: 1/2 cup - 3/4 cup light coconut milk(from a can) 2 tbsp gluten free soy sauce 2 tsp curry powder 1 block extra firm or firm tofu combine all ingredients and add pressed tofu into the marinade for 4 hrs or overnight. cook in a frying pan over medium heat until browned or bake in the oven covered at 350°f for 30-45 minutes or until crispy on the edges- just be careful not to overcook or they’ll get dry! Brown Sugar and Mustard Glazed Tofu Recipe: 1 block extra firm tofu 3 tbsp gluten free soy sauce 1/2 tsp liquid smoke 1/8 tsp ground cloves Glaze: 1/4 cup brown sugar 2 tbsp vegan butter 2 tbsp water 1 tbsp dijon 4 cloves garlic, minced 1/8 tsp cinnamon drain and press your tofu, slice the tofu crosshatch without cutting all the way through. combine soy sauce, liquid smoke and cloves, soak and pour over as much marinade onto the tofu as you can. Marinade 4hrs - overnight. 15 minutes BEFORE the tofu is done in the oven, prepare the glaze by combining all ingredients in a small pot and cooking it over medium heat for 5 ish minutes until everything is bubbling and dissolved. line a pan with parchment and bake tofu at 375°f for 50-60 minutes, pour glaze on top, then put it back into the oven for 10-15 minutes OR slice up marinated tofu and fry in a pan over medium heat(I usually chop the pieces up smaller while it's cooking), cook until browned, then add the glaze into the pan and lower the heat, simmer for a few minutes until everything is coated! Breaded Tofu Steaks Recipe: 1 block extra firm tofu 4 cloves garlic 2-4 tbsp tomato paste 1-2 tbsp dijon mustard 1 tbsp maple syrup 1 tbsp gluten free soy sauce 1 tbsp water 1/4 tsp black pepper several generous shakes steak spice gluten free breadcrumbs/coating oil for frying bbq sauce for dipping I’ve added some steak seasoning to the recipe, and went HEAVY on the tomato paste and dijon! Then marinated them for a few hours! Fry in a pan on medium heat until browned, i've also had success bbqing them on a flat pan! Make sure you FREEZE your tofu!!
