Boardmasters Surf Open - Day 3 at Boardmasters 2025

The annual longboard masterclass began on Day 3 of Boardmasters, with the LQS surfers shredding through the rounds of 32 and 24. With Fistral's sandbanks offering great scoring potential, the highest heat totals went to Portugal's Francisco Freitas as well as France's Alice Lemoigne, Justine Dupont and Roland Lefeuvre. Cornwall's own Sam Bleakley's cruisey style saw him progress to meet the seeded surfers in tomorrow's quarters, where several compatriots including Adam Griffiths, Ben Skinner and Emily Currie will be ready to also take on the world's best for the 2025 titles. The day rounded out with the Pro Junior quarter and semi finals in amphitheatre high-tide conditions, and some mind-blowing performances from Brits Sunny Ingram and Calle Cruickshank in the girls. Particularly exciting was the world-class display from previous winners Lukas Skinner and Frenchman Jay Phipps, whose highly-anticipated clash in the final will be just one of the many highlights to look forward to on an action-packed Sunday.
