In a former artist’s atelier in Paris’s 18th arrondissement, interior architects Sophie Berck and Pauline Girardot of Petit Jour transformed a bare, unfinished loft into a warm, multifunctional home defined by industrial materials, bold colour, and flexible zoning. Working with an open, double-height footprint, they placed the kitchen, full-height storage, and bathroom along the darkest wall, freeing the sunlit side to become the home’s main living zone. A slim stainless-steel kitchen and red tiled breakfast bar shape the entrance, opening into a bright living area connected to the terrace. A pine mezzanine forms a dedicated office, with a sliding double bed on rollers tucked beneath, allowing the space to shift easily between lounging, working, and sleeping.
