Diliman, Quezon City June 19, 2025 Reaffirming the Administration’s commitment to providing quality and inclusive education through digital access, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. leads the school connectivity drive at Flora A. Ylagan High School (FAYHS) in Diliman, Quezon City on June 19, 2025. Spearheaded in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), this collective effort aims to bridge the digital divide in public schools — particularly those in underserved areas — by strengthening internet connectivity, enhancing digital infrastructure and expanding access to technology. During the event, the President visits a Grade 11 classroom, engaging with students and responding to any questions they may have. He then conducts a virtual interaction with teachers and students from geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDAs) and remote schools to showcase the government’s initiatives on internet connectivity and digital access. Among these are schools located in Batanes, Bulacan, Quezon Province, Marinduque, Camarines Sur, Cebu, Tawi-Tawi, Misamis Occidental, Surigao del Norte and Apayao. Today’s visit underscores President Marcos Jr.’s directive to leverage technology for inclusive development, ensuring that no learner is left behind and that every Filipino student is equipped with the tools needed to succeed in the modern world. Through close collaboration among national and local agencies, this initiative continues to advance the development of a future-ready education system in the country.
