(00:00 - 00:18) - Intro (00:19 - 00:46) - Welcome (1:13 - 4:43) - First Lesson ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Question Answered in This Video: ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ (04:44 - 04-49) Question 1 With regard to the Sunnah followed when one sees the crescent of Ramadan? (04:50 - 06:12) - Answer 1 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ (06:13 - 06:20) Question 2 Regarding the differing of the Muslims concerning the beginning and end of the month of Ramadan, how is this established legislatively? (06:21 - 07:51) Answer 2 The difference among the Muslims regarding the beginning and end of the month returns to the difference in moon horizons, because the moon horizons differ according to the differences of lands. This is by Ijmah consensus of the Muslims, as Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah stated. Each people fast according to their sighting and break the fast according to their sighting. Due to the statement of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: “Fast upon seeing it and break the fast upon seeing it. If it is obscured from you, then estimate it,” and in another narration, “then complete the number of Shaban as thirty days.” This is based on the statement of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: “The fast is the day you all fast, the breaking of the fast is the day you all break the fast, and the sacrifice is the day you all sacrifice.” During the time of Abdullah ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, a man came from al Sham to al-Madinah and informed him that Muawiyah and the people of al-Sham had fasted on a certain day. Abdullah Ibn Abbas replied: “But we will not fast until we see the crescent ourselves.” ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ (7:52 - 8:04) Question 3 As for a person who fasted at the beginning of Ramadan in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and then returned to his home country near the end of Ramadan, while they had entered the month later, what is his ruling? (8:05 - 8:28) Answer 3 His ruling is the ruling of the people of the land he arrives in. He fasts with them and breaks the fast with them. If this results in his total fasting being less than twenty nine days, then he still breaks the fast with them and makes up the missing day after Eid in order to complete twenty nine days. This is a required day he must make up. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ (8:29 - 8:33) Question 4 Regarding the hadith: “Fast and you will be healthy,” What is the ruling on this hadith? (8:34 - 9:10) Answer 4 This narration is weak in its chain. However, its meaning is correct.... ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ (9:11 - 9:16) Question 5 Is there a specific supplication for the fasting person to pronounce at the time of breaking his fast? (9:17 - 9:50) Answer 5 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ (9:51 - 10:00) Question 6 With regard to forming the intention for fasting Ramadan, is it sufficient for all the days or does each day require a separate intention? (10:01 - 10:27) Answer 6 The Muslim intends to fast Ramadan from the moment it begins with a general intention. Then he intends for each day before fajr that he will fast that day, because each day is an independent act of worship. Due to the statement of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: “There is no fasting for the one who does not firmly intend from the night.” ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ (10:28 - 10:30) Question 7 As for this intention, is it to be verbalized? (10:31 - 10:48) Answer 7 The intention is in the heart. It is not to be verbalized. Rather, one intends with his heart, because it has not been reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, nor from his Companions, that they verbalized the intention. Verbalizing the intention is an innovation.
