Jackson breaks down his 3 best exercises for growing the total mass of your triceps. Exercises you can incorporate into your gym routine right now to get the maximal results fast! Use these triceps exercises to target each part of the muscle and maximize your muscle hypertrophy. 1. Dumbbell Extensions. Lying on a bench. Pro Tip: Make sure your Shoulders and Elbows are in line, this will help avoid injury. Always set a good base with your feet so you can drive off them, with good balance on the bench. Lock your elbows and flex your triceps at the end of the movement. 2. Close-grip Bench Press. Create a good base with your feet, to keep your balance on the bench. Pro Tip: "Grip" - place your hands on the bar, thumb tips to thumb tips, then move them about an inch out. Range of motion: you want to come down halfway from where you normally bench press. This keeps the Triceps activated, and removes your chest from the equation. Push up through your elbows, lock em out and flex the triceps. Very important for the mind muscle connection. REMEMBER: You want to keep your elbows OUT - you don't want to bring your elbows in, this lets your mind know you're targeting the Triceps and not a traditional bench press motion. 3. Heavy Triceps Push-downs. On a cable machine. Choose a straight or Y style bar. Set a good base, feet shoulder width apart. Pro Tip: When you bring the bar up, only go to 90 degrees, and no further than 90 degrees - this keeps the tension on the Triceps. Remember to lock out the elbows and flex the Triceps.
