Shane: Hi, I'm Shane with Etrailer.com. Today, you're going to be taking a look at. I'm going to walk through how to install the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness on your 2019 Hyundai Elantra. Adding four-pole wiring to your vehicle is going to allow you to pull a small trailer. It's going to allow that trailer to receive light functions from the vehicle so that you're not only safe, but your legal.Again, it's going to be a four-pole plug. It's going to come with a nice dust cap. So when you're not using it, it's going to help keep any dirt and debris off of your connections. This wiring harness is going to give you 4.2 amps per circuit for your stop and turn signals, 7.5 amps per circuit for your tail lights. And it's going to live inside the vehicle. When you're not using it, you simply roll it up and you can store it in an out of the way place inside the trunk of the car or maybe in your spare tire area. When you're ready to use it, you simply pull it out. You're going to put over top of this rubber seal. Make sure you stay away from any connections and simply close your trunk, hook up to your trailer. And you're ready to go.Now that we've gone over some of the features of this wiring, let's go ahead and walk through the installation together. To begin our installation, you need to remove your floor coverings in your trunk, and then we're going to remove this threshold. We're going to have two tie-down hooks that we need to take off, and they just unscrew. We're going to have one on each corner here. Then we're going to take our threshold and we're going to pull it out and up. We'll set that aside just like. Take a trim panel tool. We're going to pop this off on each side, just like that, remove this. And then we'll have another one here at the top. We're going to do that on both sides. On our driver's side only, we're going to take a 10 millimeter socket and we're going to go ahead and remove these two bolts. And we're going to take our wiring harness. We're going to take the yellow and Brown wire. On our driver's side, go ahead and pull your panel out. You're going to take this plug right here. Then go ahead and remove the factory plug. We're going to match it up to our new one and clip them together.Take a butt connector that comes in your kit. You're going to have a black wire that comes off of your converter box. Go ahead and attach one of the buck connectors. You're going to have a bundle of wire like this. This wire extends, this black wire coming off your converter box, up to the battery in the engine compartment. Take one end, strip it back and add it to the butt connector.I'm going to take my ground wire. I'm actually going to ground it right here on this stud that's coming from my taillight. A 10 millimeter socket will take that nut off if it's too tight. And put that on. You want to make sure your ground wire is going on metal, not on any plastic. Since this is the body of the vehicle, the stud is metal and the nut is metal. This ground, this will work just fine for a ground. We're going to get some two-sided tape for our converter box. Go ahead and stick the tape on the box. I'm going to mount the box right here. Then your green wire with the red wire is going to go across over to the passenger side and it's going to hook up through the plug the same way we did our driver's side.Four-pole wire ran over to the center here, leave it there. My black power wire. That's going up to my battery. I ran it back behind this panel. I'm actually going to take it right through this grommet and you can poke a little hole right in the middle of that grommet, push your wire through all the way to the outside. This will rest here. When we put our floor cover back on, it'll keep it from getting damaged. So now that I've got it run up here, I'm going to go ahead and put these two screws back in to hold my pan on place and make sure my wire stays up.Once you have your four pole wire ran to the center, your power wire ran out from underneath the panel, your wire going across to the passenger side. I zip tied it right here. So it didn't hang down. Now I can go ahead and you can put in the rest of your panels. Again, your green wire, that's coming across. Just make sure you're not going to, it's not going to interfere with any of the connection points where you had to put your
