Soft sesame buns made using the manual mode on a bread maker — step by step. Featuring the Panasonic SD-MDX4-K Home Bakery Bread Machine. Sesame Buns (Bread Maker – Manual Mode) Makes: 6 buns Method: Bread Maker + Air Fryer or Oven 🧾 Ingredients Dough 2 cups bread flour (250 g) 1 tbsp butter (15 g) 1 tbsp sugar (12.5 g) 2 tsp milk (6 g) 1 tsp salt (5 g) ¾ cup water (170 g) 1 tsp dry yeast (2.8 g) Topping 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash) White sesame seeds 🥣 Step 1: Dough (Bread Maker – Manual Mode) Add all dough ingredients to the bread bucket. Kneading Knead 2: 2 minutes Knead 3: 4 minutes Knead 4: 15 minutes ➡️ Total kneading time: ~21 minutes First Fermentation Fermentation 3 60 minutes Dough should rise to about 2.5× its original size ✋ Step 2: Shape 1. Remove dough 2. Divide into 6 equal pieces 3. Roll into smooth balls 1. first take one ball and pull the dough toward the middle, do this about 6 times 2. then put ball on counter and move it in a circular motion keeping your pinky on the counter and not letting the ball flip over on its back 3. continue with the rest of the balls 4. Now you have 6 ball shaped buns 4. Rest 15 minutes after resting, put in air fryer to proof 🌡 Step 3: Second Rise (Proofing) Air Fryer (with Ferment Mode)• 30°C (86°F)• 45 minutes, until doubled in size Conventional Oven• 30–35°C (86-95°F)• 40–50 minutes, until doubled in size• Cover loosely with a clean kitchen towel or lightly greased plastic wrap 🍞 Step 4: Bake Air Fryer Preheat• 160°C (320°F) for 3 minutes Bake• 160°C (320°F) for 10 minutes• Bake in batches if needed Conventional Oven Preheat• 170–180°C (338-356°F) Bake• 12–15 minutes• Until golden brown
