HUD references the American Land Title Association/National Society of Professional Surveyors (ALTA/NSPS) Land Title Survey Standard as required in conjunction with all insured loan applications and closings. This three-part training series included an overview of the ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey Standard, survey preparation and certification information, and how to address optional items. This session covered survey preparation and certification. Attendees learned about a range of topics, including measurements and dimensions, field located features, addressing boundary issues, identifying easements, scale and drafting requirements, and surveyor liability issues.
