Simpson Desert 2025 Part 5 - Free Camp (Eyre Creek) to Birdsville

Yet another stunning day as we awaken in our beautiful camp spot, ready to try and make it to Birdsville via Big Red. Can we conquer it? Will we make it? Crashes, water crossings, this one has it all! With some help from Lachie we navigate the crossing, before using the detour to make our way onto the QAA again and off to Birdsville. We finally reach Big Red, but not before some drama as one of us has a big off at the last hurdle... Only after conquering Big Red can we hit the bitumen for the run into Birdsville, but even this short trip sees one of us run out of fuel while Woolie struggles with no clutch! But, despite all this we make it! Birdsville welcomes us and we manage to get a nights accomodation at the Birdsville Pub - what a great bunch of guys run that place! We have a pub cooked meal, some beer on tap, and settle into our cabins for the night.
