Mario's Journal: Day 29 We came to a dead end before we reached the summit. I noticed an alcove in the wall shaped like a star. Goombario also noticed a separate path near the stairs. We went over there and noticed a cracked wall. Bombette took care of that and we went in the cave. Inside was a beautiful crystalline room. Lakilester thought this was the Crystal Palace, but I wasn't sure. It was just a large room. That was when Bow noticed something strange about the far wall. I put my hand through it. The wall wasn't solid at all! Inside the wall was a stone shaped like a star. It was encased in a small crystal. A ghost appeared. She said her name was Madam Merlar. She's Merlon and Merle's ancestor. Merlar told us that we need the Star Stone in order to get inside the Crystal Palace. She'll give it to us if we promise to clean out Bowser's minions. I promised. The Star Stone fit perfectly into the small alcove and icy stairs appeared that led straight to the Crystal Palace. The inside of the Crystal Palace was confusing at first. Then we found out that each of the rooms are connected in some way. We could also go behind the mirrors and explore other rooms. Really the only problems were the duplighosts. They kept trying to disguise themselves as my friends, but we stopped them quickly. There was one group of duplighosts that clearly thought I was an idiot. Their disguises didn't match my friends at all. Some of the white clubbas kept mentioning someone called the Crystal King. He must be one of Bowser's minions, and the one guarding the Star Spirit. I hope we can quickly find our way through this labyrinth. The Crystal King must be stopped!
