ÖGUF AK NL/BZ: Roberto Risch "El Argar and the disruptive economies of the Early Bronze Age"

This is the recording of the presentation given by Roberto Risch on the 12th of May 2022. Roberto Risch (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) https://www.uab.cat/web/qui-som/rober... The publication of the article "El estado argárico" (The El Argar State) in 1995 triggered a discussion, especially in processual archaeology, about the concept of the state and the European Bronze Age that continues to this day. In the meantime, new research results and theoretical considerations were able to identify structures that are characteristic of state organisational forms in other parts of Europe as well. Just as with El Argar, these structures emerged between 2200-1550 BC. In this lecture, Roberto Risch will discuss the specific political and economic structures of El Argar on the basis of the latest research results.
