This month we are campaigning around Pride Month and for our second episode, we had a conversation with Thea Bardot, the Founder of Lightning Travel Recruitment. In this episode Thea shares their advice, insight and lived experience identifying as a trans non-binary in the LGTBQIA+ community during Pride Month. 🚨 Important Note: Throughout the video and our conversation, you'll notice we refer to Thea Bardot by their former name. This episode was recorded prior to Thea's name change. As you watch or listen, please remember that their name is now Thea Bardot. Thea identifies as the trans-non-binary finery and ADHD babe behind the disruptive Lightning Travel Recruitment brand. With their powerful voice and captivating storytelling, Thea has emerged as a 'top voice' on LinkedIn, recognised as one of the top 10 LGBTIA Voices in the UK 2 years in a row, and was named one of 5 LinkedIn creators to follow by PinkNews in 2023. They have also contributed LGBTQ articles to Conde Nast Traveller, been featured in Forbes and received the Recruitment Leader award at the UK Recruitment Awards. Thea is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion in the workplace, and they use their platform to share insights into inclusive recruitment, neurodiversity, and transgender awareness. Their unique perspective and engaging approach have earned them a reputation as a thought leader in these areas. Together Gabby and Thea covered: 🌈 The importance of using preferred pronouns and how we can better understand multiple pronouns 🌈 The importance of language and terminology 🌈 How we can encourage more cisgender involvement 🌈 The need for self-reflection and empathy 🌈 Taking action against transphobia and discrimination 🚨 Important Note: During the episode we mentioned the importance of using an upper case B when we refer to the Black community - we capitalise Black, and not white, when referring to groups in racial, ethnic, or cultural terms. For many people, Black reflects a shared sense of identity and community.
