Creepy, crawly and with more legs than would seem necessary, what are we talking about today?? SPIDERS. Just in time for halloween we’re going to learn a little bit about these notoriously spooky and multi-legged creatures and we’re even going to do a little spider work ourselves and make some SPIDERWEB SLIME! This slime ends up stretchy and gooey. It’s sometimes called Snow Slime but you can also pull it out to become stringy, like spiderwebs. The downloadable PDF worksheet for this experiment can be found here: https://ExplorationStation.net/spider... –MATERIALS– • 1 cup white school glue • 2 tablespoons contact solution (must contain boric acid) • 1 tablespoon baking soda • Ziploc bag (fun hack to minimize the mess) • Plastic spiders • 1 tablespoon Biodegradable Instant Snow (add more as needed) –Procedure– 1. Pour glue into ziploc bag. 2. Add baking soda and mix. 3. Add contact lens solution and mix until the slime stops sticking to the bag. 4. If slime is too sticky, add ¼ tablespoon of contact mix. 5. Pour in instant snow. Knead mixture in bag until snow is evenly distributed and mixture becomes more firm.
