Dr. Juliet Lamb put transmitters on 30 Great Black-backed Gulls to track their movements during the Block Island nesting season and to find out where they go when the colony disperses. While she had the birds in hand, she took a number of measurements to check on their health and condition. Here, Juliet reaches into her tool bag and explains how she uses each gadget.
