Steam Hauled Brake Van Rides at the East Lancashire Railway Open House Event 2026

Andrew Barclay J.N. Derbyshire and L&Y Pug 11243 are captured working steam brake van rides between Baron Street Locomotive Works and Bury Bolton Street station as part of the East Lancashire Railway Open House Weekend. Behind the scenes shed tours were offered as part of the event with visitors taken on a DMU shuttle to the Carriage and Wagon works to start their tour and the steam hauled brake van rides being the return journey to Bury Bolton Street station. MSC Gothenburg was on on Footplate Experience to Burrs during the event and is seen returning with one of the brake van rides ECS journeys.
