Thank-you for watching and subscribing! Catching up on the winter maintenance vids I changed the Golden Motor mounting from a pulley system to a direct drive (shaft to shaft) system to see if this make any performance gains. I had to pull out the propeller shaft seal and 2 blade propeller and while I was in there I put in a new cutlass bearing as well. There are 2 parts to the motor mount, the mounting plate which replaces the fiberglass panel I made last year. I decide to put in a 1/4 inch stiff aluminum panel. To get all the dimensions right and the fitting to be aligned, I made a template first out of wood and then transferred the holes and cuts to the aluminum plate. #propellershaftseal #electricmotor #enginemount Part 1 includes the steps up to the replacement plate, shaft seal and cutlass bearing alignment Part 2 is the welded motor mount and shaft coupler and testing the alignment (fails!) 00:00 Intro 02:47 Ep 82 Title 03:03 Framing the Engine Mount 06:16 The Template 08:29 Test Fitting 13:25 Production Mounting Plate 15:37 Shaft Seal Installation 23:23 Final Mounting Plate Install A personal life journey, a reflection, an introduction.
