Nom Kom is a traditional Cambodian dessert, it's a mochi with a mixed coconut filling that consists of shredded coconut, palm sugar, black sesame seeds and then steamed in banana leaves. 1/2 black sesame seed 1 package of palm sugar 16oz 1 package of shredded coconut 16oz Glutinous rice powder 16oz Banana leaves 1tbs of salt (Makes about 20 mochi balls) 1. Boil 1 cup of water and add in the whole package of palm sugar 2. Add in the shredded coconut, and black sesame seeds, and salt 3. Smash peanuts into small bits and then add into pot 4. Make the dough by adding in 1 cup of water slowly then add 1/2 cup more water and knead well for 10 minutes 5. Make sure the coconut mixture cooks until there is no more liquid left and leave to cool 6. Cut banana leaves and wipe down excess water, fold in half and cut and continue to wipe down. Cut off the dried ends 7. When cold roll the coconut mixture into small balls 8. Follow banana leaf folding method and add in the mochi balls 9. Steam the balls for 40 minutes 10.
