In this video, I play Middle of Nowhere: Under the Blanket, a terrifying indie point and click horror games developed by Stas Chekirov, and I honestly didn’t expect it to get under my skin the way it did. From the very first minute, this game creates a sense of dread that slowly creeps into your mind and refuses to let go. This isn’t a typical jumpscare-heavy horror experience. Instead, it’s a psychological survival nightmare where fear builds with every second you hesitate. You play as a child alone in a dark bedroom during a raging storm. The only light is what you dare to look at—and sometimes, looking is the worst decision you can make. As someone who plays a lot of point and click horror games, I can confidently say this one does something special. The entire game revolves around simple choices: Do you look… or do you hide? Download and play the game here" https://chekirovstas.itch.io/middle-o... You can click on different areas of the room—the chair with a hoodie draped over it, the closet door slightly open, under the bed, the ceiling, or the hallway door left cracked open. Sometimes, nothing happens. Other times… you’ll wish you never looked. When you encounter something unnatural, your only defense is pulling the blanket over your head. But here’s the twist: hiding too long raises your sanity meter. Facing the darkness raises your fear meter. You constantly have to balance both, or you lose. That mechanic alone makes this one of the most stressful point and click horror games I’ve played in a long time. What really got to me were the sounds. The whispers. The distant singing. The demonic voices that feel like they’re coming from inside your own head. Even when nothing is happening on screen, the audio design keeps you on edge. Every creak, every breath, every second of silence feels intentional. There are clear pop culture horror inspirations here—vibes that remind me of Pennywise from IT, Annabelle, The Nun, and even Sadako from The Ring. At the same time, there’s this strange, almost Monsters, Inc.-style childhood fear energy, where your imagination does half the work. That mix makes the game feel unsettling in a very personal way. The goal is simple on paper: survive until 4:00 AM. But mentally? That’s a whole different story. As the night progresses, your fear and madness grow faster. You start questioning every sound. Every shadow. Every moment you spend under the blanket feels safe… until it doesn’t. This is where the game truly shines and why it stands out among other point and click horror games. In this gameplay, I share my raw reactions, my decision-making process, and the moments where I genuinely didn’t know what to do next. There were times I hesitated—and those hesitations came with consequences. This game punishes uncertainty, and that makes every click feel important. If you enjoy indie horror games, psychological horror, or unique point and click horror games that rely on atmosphere instead of cheap scares, this is absolutely worth your time. And the fact that it’s free makes it even more impressive. If you’re new here—welcome to FabeJax. I focus on horror games, especially indie and psychological experiences that don’t always get the attention they deserve. If you like tense gameplay, eerie sound design, and games that mess with your head, you’re in the right place. 👉 If you enjoyed this video, make sure to: Hit the Like button (it really helps the channel) Subscribe for more horror gameplay Drop a comment and let me know: Would you look… or hide?
