Several Fleet of the Future and Legacy trains are captured here at Warm Springs on June 13, 2020, the opening day of BART's San Jose Extension. The now-former terminus of southbound Green- and Orange-line trains, Warm Springs/South Fremont was the first constructed section of BART's Silicon Valley Extension, which will see trains travelling all the way to Santa Clara by 2030 (one hopes). The Warm Springs extension opened on March 25, 2017, and brought BART tracks 5.5 miles closer to the city limits of San Jose. On June 13, 2020, the tracks were extended another 10 miles to Milpitas and Berryessa stations. In 2030, trains should continue on to 28th St/Little Portugal, Downtown San Jose, Diridon, and Santa Clara stations.
