A Desperate Cry For Help

The message today concerns King David after he committed his sin with Bathsheba. After being confronted of his sin by Nathan the prophet, David penned Psalm 51, which is the Scriptures for today. In this Psalm, David acknowledged his sin and pleased for forgiveness and cleansing. His plea is a heartfelt cry to be restored to God's favor. For us today we can take comfort in knowing that in our worse times, when desperation is afoot, we can cry out to God, who will hear and answer. To know that we have, on our side, the One who has the absolute final say-so on every matter of the universe should be a great comfort to us. We can cry out to God and He can change our situation for the better. Those who do not know God do not have this hope; they only have what is in front of them, and this crumbles before their eyes, dashing their hopes. In God is limitless power, and a fulfilling hope of restoration. However, we must acknowledge that we do wrong at times, and thus we must ask God for forgiveness for our sins. We must also have a willing heart to walk the right path, in His strength. God is a loving Father who hears and answers the cries of His children.
